The Franklin County Women’s Shelter is on the way to becoming the Franklin County Women and Family Shelter, providing temporary shelter, services and support to families! Read more about it on the News and Events Page!

Homelessness Happens.  When it does, the Franklin County Women’s Shelter is glad to be around to help.  We provide shelter, support, and services to homeless women and children in Franklin County and surrounding communities.  The Shelter also provides services to community members who are at-risk of homelessness. Our transitional living center (TLC) houses women who can stay up to one year.  Emergency shelter is provided through 30-day shelter beds and short-term hotel stays.  We provide individualized case management to each woman in our housing programs with the end goal of self-sufficiency. The Shelter knows that homelessness doesn’t just happen during regular office house, so the Shelter operates a 24 hour information and referral hotline. In 2014: 478 Intakes were completed representing 898 adults and children.

28 women and children lived at the Shelter in the TLC program.

25 women and children lived at the Shelter in the Emergency Shelter Program.

61 women and children were assisted with emergency shelter.

444 adults and children from the community received food, hygiene products, and/or cleaning supplies. This is in addition to the supplies we routinely provide to the clients in our housing programs.
