Brainy Bodacious Women

Sonia Sanaders, our 1,000th BBW, and her recruiter Teresa Barton

The Brainy Bodacious Women (BBW) are a group of women committed to helping other women. They proudly support the Franklin County Women’s Shelter (FCWS) by hosting fundraisers, volunteering at the Shelter, and providing necessary financial support to keep the organization in operation.

We currently have over 1,300 BBW, and would like to meet a goal of 1,500 by the end of the year. BBW host an annual fundraising event for the Shelter called the Sumptuous Southern Supper.  We are always recruiting additional BBW to join the group and to lend their names as hosts for the Supper, as well as giving time, money and energy for the organization!  If interested in joining the group, send an email to brainybodaciouswomen@gmail.com with your name, address, phone number, and email address.

Be Brainy, Be Bodacious, and Be Proud

To honor Brainy, Bodacious Women  everywhere, we have designed T-shirts and Aprons with the I’m a Brainy Bodacious Woman phrase and logo. (Click here – BBW Logo to view the design) All merchandise is available through the Women’s Shelter for purchase – Link to BBW Merchandise Page

Sumptuous Southern Supper

The Brainy Bodacious Women were at it again in August 2011 when they hosted the 3rd annual Sumptuous Southern Supper.  All proceeds benefitted the Franklin County Women’s Shelter. For more information and pictures of the Supper, go to the Supper heading under News and Events on this website.

If Margaret Mead were alive, we think she’d agree with our interpretation of one of her famous quotes — never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed women can change the world!

  1. `So glad to be one of the BBW women for the Shelter.’ Many, many thanks to Doris Thurber, along with a young girl in the Shelter, who participated in our Good Shehperd Catholic Church crafts sale Nov. 19-20……beautiful items, including 2 corn husk dolls i bought.

To so many of us, Franklin County’s Women’s Shelter embodies Thanksgiving every day & night! Angela Wilkins
